This fall, Buff Kavelman was retained by the J. Paul Getty Trust to lead a capacity-building workshop in Alghero, Italy, for global heritage site directors from ten Balkan, Middle Eastern and North African countries as part of the Getty Conservation Institute’s MOSAIKON initiative. The perseverance and dedication of the participants is notable. Many work with limited resources or in war-torn countries, making their accomplishments all the more impressive. Buff was honored to be able to help these cultural leaders build new tools to expand their professional networks and attract new funding partnerships.
